- סַמְתְּרֵיm. pl. (v. preced. wds.) a vulnerary preparation; dragons-blood. B. Mets. 107b הוו עבדי ליה ס׳וכ׳ Ms. M. a. Ar. ed. Koh. (ed. סַמָּא; Ar. ed. סמתר) they might prepare samtré, and he might recover; Yalk. Deut. 849; Yeb.114b (Rashi סַמְתֵּירֵי). B. Bath.74b ההוא עישבא ס׳ היה (Ar. הנך עישבי ס׳ הוו, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 8) that plant was s.Ḥull.54a quot. in Rashbam to B. Bath. l. c. עבדי לה ס׳ (ed. בדרי לה סמא).
